WWII Garrison Cap with US Air Force Officer's Collar Insignia

This is a an overseas cap worn by US Army personnel during World War II. This is a PX or private purchase type garrison cap that has no piping to identify which branch it was made for, and no officer black & gold braid. The piping used by the Air Corps Was the Ultramarine Blue and Orange colors. This is a non descript olive drab cap that could have been purchased and worn by one one. The remnants of a clothing tag are still in the stitching inside the head band. There is no sweatband sewn into this cap. An ink stamp shows this hat to be a size 7 1/8. There is no lining inside the cap. There are no names inked inside the cap. This is just a nice representative cap worn by a US Army Air Corps airman during WWII.
