Revolutionary War Artifacts Excavated From Essex Co., Gloucester Co. and Yorktown, Virginia
Item #: WR786
This is a group of 24 artifacts from the American Revolution that were recovered in Essex County, Virginia, Gloucester Point, Virginia and Yorktown, Virginia. The grouping consists of five garment size buckles, one shoe buckle, nine buttons of differing sizes, a thimble, a pewter officer's whistle, a musket ball, two pistol balls or buckshot, one piece of grape shot and three flints. I do not know exactly what pieces came from which locations. These artifacts come in a nice wooden display case with maps of the Siege/Battle of Yorktown and Gloucester Point in the Siege of Yorktown. These artifacts represent the turning point of the American Revolution, when General George Washington's Continental Army along with his French allies, defeated General Charles Lord Cornwallis's British regulars at Yorktown. All pieces display well, and this group is priced to sell.
