This is a group of 21 artifacts from the American Revolution that were recovered in Charleston, South Carolina. The grouping consists of three pieces of garment size buckles, one shoe buckle, six buttons of differing sizes, four square nails, one piece of pottery, four pieces of china, a piece of whale bone with initials scratched into it and a small unidentified brass piece engraved with LAYCOCK/PATENTEE.NO. 136/LONGACRE. I do not know the exact location of where in Charleston these pieces were recovered. These artifacts come in a nice wooden display case with a map of the Siege of Charleston. These artifacts represent a low point of the American Revolution for the colonies. From 11 February through 12 May almost a 5000 man Continental Army ceased to exist. All pieces display well, and this group is priced to sell.
