WWI US Model 1910 Shovel Carrier

This is an unissued US Model 1910 shovel carrier used during World War I. This cotton duct carrier is in excellent condition, having no issues at all. The front of the carrier is clearly stenciled U. S., while the reverse is maker marked and dated BEAKER/1917. Both stencils are very crisp and legible. The 1910 style wire hanger, two bar buckle and brass tip of the strap retain nearly 100% of the blackening. These were usually attached to the outer flap of the haversack, but could be worn on a cartridge or pistol belt if needed. This will make an excellent addition to you WWI US infantry equipment display or collection.
