Non Excavated Confederate General & Staff Officer Button

This is a Confederate General Officer and General Staff Officer's button from the American Civil War. It is in great condition, showing an aged, light chocolate patina on the face and as bright as the day it was made on the back side. This brass coat size button is of a two piece design with a border and measures 24 mm. This particular button is listed in Albert's book as CS 5. There are no nicks or any other damage with this button. The shank is still present and standing tall. There back is maker marked "EXTRA RICH/TREBLE GILT". This type of button came through the Union blockade from England. This is an iconic piece that easily identifies with the American Civil War in excellent condition.
