WWII Japanese Cold Weather Mess Kit Cover

This is a cold weather carrier for a Japanese mess kit used by the Imperial Japanese Army during World War II. This heavily insulated mess kit cover was a product of the cold weather conditions the Japanese Army encountered during their fighting in Manchuria. The olive cotton carrier is fur lined to prevent the contents of the mess kit from freezing. This one is in near mint condition and does not appear to have been issued. It is free of stains, rips, tears or any other kind of damage. All stitching remains tight and unbroken, and all the twill ties are still present. This one does not have a shoulder strap with it. There is no kanji ink stamped on the inside of the carrier that I can find. If you have a Japanese WWII collection, you probably don't have one of these in it!
