Vietnam Period Poncho
Item #: WR947

This is a US military wet weather poncho from the Vietnam War period. The poncho was a multi purpose item that could be used as an individual poncho during inclement weather. It could also be used as a ground sheet, as a light weight blanket when used in conjunction with a liner, as a cover for the sleeping bag, and as part of a two man tent when combined with the shelter half. There is no visible ink stamp, but this one is from the late 1950's or early 1960's. It has all the grommets and snaps used to connect it to a shelter half. The hood still has the cotton corded draw string. The waist draw string is also still reporting for duty. There are no holes, rips, tears or other damage on the poncho. It is still flexible, and could be worn out in bad weather today. Every Vietnam collection needs one of these in it!
