This is an issue of Harper's Weekly, a political magazine that was established in 1857 and continued in circulation until 1916. This edition is marked as Volume VIIL No. 390, and dated June 18, 1864. The complete magazine is 14 pages, including advertisements. There are numerous articles throughout the paper that relate to the war, both in the eastern and western theaters. The front page art shows Admiral Porter's gunboats on the Red River and tow different former prisoners of war that were interred at Andersonville prison camp. There are numerous illustrations from various artist throughout the magazine that depict battle scenes from both theaters. The paper is in very good condition, showing only a couple of small tears along the edges. The pages are not yellowed from age and all text is perfectly legible. This would go great with your Civil War document or newspaper collection.
