WWII German M31 Canteen Marked VAL 42

This is a Model 1931 canteen used by the German military during World War II. The German Army and Luftwaffe used these type canteens throughout the war. This aluminum canteen is complete and is in it's original condition. The canteen has no cracks or holes and will still hold water. The bakelite cap is present, but is missing a small section along the bottom and the gasket is missing. The canteen is stamped on the neck with VAL/42. The original black leather carrying harness is present, to include the short section that connects to the canteen cap. The adjustment buckle is not marked, the carrying hook is stamped Patent Ritter. The felt cover is an early war version, having four snaps instead of three. There is hole in the back of the felt cover near the strap. This one is in overall good condition and still displays great. It will look good in any WWII German collection.
