This is a 2nd Pattern US Model 1943 entrenching tool carrier used during World War II. This carrier is a result of the problems encountered with the Model 1928 carrier, especially in relation to use with the mountain rucksacks. The M1943 carrier had reinforced stitching at the edges, leather reinforcements on each end of the opening for the shovel and three sets of eyelets on the reverse for the M1910 hook. This allowed for an adjustable point of attachment on rucksacks, cartridge and pistol belts. This carrier is in good condition. There are no tears, rips or stains anywhere on the carrier. The stitching remains tight and unbroken. The LTD snap works perfectly. The inside of the covers is ink stamped SHAPIRO BROS CO/1945. There is also a white paint spot with SV4 stenciled on it. If you have an e-tool but need a carrier, here you go.
