WWII Soviet Union National Flag

This is a Soviet Union state flag from the World War II period. The flag measures 62" wide and 35" high. It is constructed of one panel of red cotton material with a dyed yellow hammer, sickle and star in the upper right hoist area. This flag was the fourth variant adopted by the Soviet Union as a state flag, and was used from 1936-1955. The flag has a 1 1/4" white canvas hoist sewn onto the left side that uses a rope and toggle halyard to attach to a flag pole. The colors of the flag are still very bright, the red filed of the flag shows very little fading. There are a couple of small areas along the top edge of the flag that are stained. The yellow sickle, hammer and star and still very vibrant. There are no rips, tears or holes in the flag. This is a very nice example of a World War II period Soviet Union state flag that displays well and will compliment any collection.
