This is a post card image of two African American soldiers taken post World War I. The card measures 5 3/8" wide and 3 3/8" high. The actual black and white image measures 4 1/4" wide and 2 3/8" high. The image shows two African American soldiers in uniform sitting with what appear to be seven school aged children in school prescribed uniforms. The soldiers sit at opposite ends, with one young white male and six female students between them. The soldiers are in the 1918 uniform, one in cloth leggings and the other in the M1911 leather leggings. The soldier on the left side holds his campaign hat in his hand. I can see no rank, unit patches or collar disk on either soldier. On the back of the card written in pencil is 8D close of 1919 and 5/19 mo. The image is very clear and shows no degradation. I believe this was set in an Army post at a post school. It's a nice image of two post WWI soldiers and a group of school kids that will fit into any post WWI military image collection.
