WWII US Fourteenth Army Patch

This is a US Fourteenth Army patch from the World War II period. The patch measures 2" at the widest point and 2 7/8" at the highest point. The patch is a bell shape with a white letter A centered in the bell. The colors of the patch, red and white, represent distinguishing flags for Armies. The patch represents the fictional 14th Army, a ghost unit that was developed as a part of Operation Quicksilver. The 14th Army was part of the fictitious First Army Group commanded by Lieutenant General George S Patton Jr. The Fourteenth Army was activated 1943 and deactivated in 1944. The one piece patch is all machine sewn. There is no moth damage on the patch. This patch has never been on a uniform. If you collect WWII US patches you gotta have one of these.
