WWII US Fifteenth Army Group Patch

This is a US Fifteenth Army Group patch from the World War II period. The patch measures 2 7/16" at the widest point and 2 7/16" at the highest point. The patch is a square shape with a blue and white wave design within a shield shape on a red background. The colors of the patch, red, white and blue represent the national colors. The Fifteenth Army Group was activated in 1943 in Algiers, North Africa. The Fifteenth Army Group was activated to plan Operation Husky, the invasion of Sicily. It operated in the Italian Campaign from 1943 to 1945. It commanded by British General Harold Alexander and later by Lieutenant General Mark Clark. The one piece patches are all machine sewn. There is no moth damage on either patch. Neither of these patches have ever been on a uniform. One patch has a raised red border around the shield, the other does not. If you collect WWII US patches you gotta have one of these.
