WWII US First Corps Patch

This is a US First Corps patch from the World War II period. The patch measures 2 1/4" in diameter. The patch is round in shape with a black circular center surrounded by a white circle with a black circular border. The US First Corps was first activated 15-20 January, 1918 in Neufchateau, France It deactivated on 25 March, 1919. The US First Corps was reactivated on 1 November, 1940 at Columbia, South Carolina where it supervised training and large scale divisional maneuvers for the next nine months. On 6 July, 1942 Lieutenant General Robert L. Eichelberger took command of First Corps. It operated in the Pacific Theater of Operations, and received campaign streamers for Papua, New Guinea and Luzon. The one piece patch is all machine sewn. There is no moth damage on the patch. This patch has never been on a uniform. If you collect WWII US patches you gotta have one of these.
