Post WWII US Eighth Corps Patch

This is a US Eighth Corps patch from the post World War II period. The patch measures 2 3/8" wide and 2 3/8" high. The patch is octagon in shape, having the number 8 in white in the center of a blue background with a white eight sided border near the patch edge. The US Eighth Corps was first organized on 26-29 November, 1918 in France. It was demobilized on 20 April, 1919 at Montigny-sur-Aube, France. During the period between WWI and WWII the Seventh Corps was relegated to the reserve system. The US Eighth Corps was fully activated in the Regular Army on 14 October, 1940 at Ft Sam Houston, Texas. It operated in the European Theater of Operations, and received campaign streamers for the Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, the Ardennes-Alsace and Central Europe campaigns. This one piece patch ise all machine sewn. There is no moth damage on the patch. This patch has never been on a uniform. If you collect WWII US patches you gotta have one of these.
