WWII US Army Twelfth Corps Patch

This is a US Twelfth Corps patch from the World War II period. The patch measures 2 1/8" at the widest point and 2 11/16" at the highest point. The patch is in the shape of a shield, having the design of the four arms of a windmill in the center. The arms of the windmill are an orange tint on a blue background with a blue border. The US Twelfth Corps was first constituted in 1933 and allocated to the Organized Reserves. It was activated on 29 August, 1942 at Columbia, South Carolina. The Twelfth Corps became operational on 1 August, 1944 in France as part of the US Third Army. It operated in the European Theater of Operations, and received campaign streamers for the Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes-Alsace and the Central Europe campaigns. This one piece patch is all machine sewn. There is no moth damage on the patch. This patch has never been on a uniform. If you collect WWII US patches you gotta have one of these.
