This is a US Model 1910 tunic from World War I. The summer version of this uniform is a little more difficult to find, as it is made of cotton twill fabric instead of the more common wool fabric. The jacket, or tunic, is unlined and is of a single breast design. There are five subdued bronze general service buttons on the front, along with six smaller general service buttons. The jacket has a standing collar, shoulder epaulettes, plain cuffs and four pockets on the front. Each epaulet has a small general service button, as does each pocket to secure the flap. The collar has provisions for collar discs to be worn on it. A theater made 1st Infantry Division patch is sewn on the left sleeve. Below the division patch is an honorable discharge chevron, and above the cuff are two bullion service chevrons, denoting at least 12 months of overseas service. The right sleeve has the insignia of a 1st Class Gunner. The collar insignia is of the Ordnance Department on the left side and the generic US on the right. The tunic is in amazing condition. There is no moth damage, no holes, tears or stains anywhere on the tunic. This one will stand out in any collection.
