This just came into the shop today! An extremely nice example of a World War II Marine Corps officer's overcoat. The Forrest Green wool material is flawless, with no tears, rips or moth holes anywhere! The coat is double breasted, with Marine Corps buttons from Superior Quality lining both sides. There is where the only flaw with the coat is. One of the buttons on the right side has become detached, but the original button is still with the coat. It was in the right outer pocket, along with a set of H&H Sterling Captains bars. The button can easily be reattached by any tailor or sewing shop. This is a private purchase, lined overcoat. There is an inner pocket on the left side of the coat with a clothing label from Barry - Mowery Co. 2116 East Woodbridge. The label also states the owner's name as Lt. J.W. Hart, 9-30-42 #1406. There is no size label in the jacket but it appears to be about a 42. If you are a collector of Marine Corps uniforms, I guarantee you won't find a better overcoat than this one!
