WWII US Model 1924 First Aid Pouch with Carlisle Bandage
Item #: WR86
This is an US Model 1924 first aid pouch with a Carlisle bandage used in World War II. The pouch is in mint, unissued condition. The dark olive drab color is still very vibrant, and has no staining. The canvas has no holes, rips or tears. The stitching is very tight and has no breaks or frays. The closure tab works perfectly. The carrying bail is slightly bent though. The back of the pouch is ink stamped INDEPENDENT/AWNINGS/1944. Hand written in ink is B-97, anybodies guess as to what that refers to. The front of the pouch is clearly ink stamped with the U.S. Inside the pouch is a Carlisle bandage. It is in the waxed cardboard container. Everyone who served in an overseas capacity carried one of these on their web gear. Great example of a WWII first aid pouch that will complete your web gear!
