Vietnam Era US Model 1956 Pistol Belt

This is a US Model 1956 pistol belt, part of the M1956 Load Carrying Equipment that replaced the M1945 Combat Pack system. These cotton canvas web belts were made in two sizes, medium and large. The medium size, of which this belt is, was for waist sizes under 30", and large for waist sizes over 30". The belt is adjustable by means of a single brass hook adjuster on each end of the belt. The belt is secured by means of a brass hook and loop buckle. These were used by the US military from the late 1950's all the way into the 1990's.
