This is the cover page page from the Harper's Pictorial History of the Great Rebellion in the United States. The illustration measures 9 1/2" wide and 11 1/4" tall. The one page section of the article is mounted on a piece of cardboard and is protected by shrink wrap. This one page from the Harper's Weekly looks just the way it did when it was printed years ago. There are no smudges, stains, rips, tears, creases or folds on the page. The black and white illustration shows a winged angel holding two tablets, one inscribed 1860 1861, the other 1862 1863 She sits atop a laurel wreath, shaped in an arch above the words Harper's Pictorial History/of the/Great Rebellion/in the/ Untied States. Below the wording is an American eagle in flight. If you collect early American political or legal documents this piece will fit right in!
