This is a set of rare matching pair of US "Bear Paw" snow shoes used by the United States Mountain troops during World War II. They could have been issued to either the 10th Mountain Division or the US-Canadian 1st Special Service Force. They are made of ash wood and rawhide by the Fahlin Company. The shoes measure 21" in length and 10 3/4" wide. Each shoe is stamped U.S. 1942, the maker FAHLIN and matching serial number of 7964. Hand written on one end of each shoe is the number 6, not sure what that's all about. They are in mint condition, no issues what so ever. These do not come with the bindings to attach the shoes to the boots. These Bear Paw snow shoes are not something you come across everyday. If you collect 10th Mountain gear, these are a must for you!
