This is a copy of The Kingsport Times, a newspaper serving the northeast Tennessee Tri City area. It is a City edition and is dated 20 October, 1942. This is a 10 page edition, but only pages 1, 2, 11 and 12 are here. The headline for this Tuesday in 1942 reads, "JAP AMMUNITION BLOWN UP." There are no photos on the front page, just a drawing of a global map showing where the current fighting was taking place. There are numerous articles on the front page that relate to the war, from Japanese supply dumps being blown up by the US Navy, the Battle of Stalingrad rages around a factory, two million Frenchmen being ready to rebel, Hitler's men in Norway deserting and committing suicide to Mrs. Roosevelt debating on going overseas. The paper is in fair condition, showing some damage by insects and rodents along the left side of the paper. The pages are slightly yellowed, but all text and images are perfectly legible. This would go great with your WWII documents collection.
