This is a section of a wooden aircraft propeller used during World War I. This one still has remnants of a World War I Iron Cross decal, the makers name Resch, the Reschke company logo and the gold letters Ges. ges. This is the center piece of an original WWI propeller that was manufactured by the Franz Reschke Company of Berlin. They were known for producing propellers, and this one was most likely used on an Albatros variant. Each end of the propeller was marked with a representation of the Iron Cross, the company name of Reschke in gold, the company logo of a triangle in gold with the letter R in the center and the letters Ges. gesch below the triangle. Some enterprising soldier or airman turned this piece into his personal boot jack! 14 1/2" long and 5" at the widest point. If you have a World War I aviation collect this piece will add some spark to it!
