This is a photo album identified to Thomas J. Hill, a United States Marine, from World War I. The album contains 110 photographs and post cards made during and after the war. I have done no research on Thomas Hill, but the album and photos indicate that he was a US Marine from Alabama. He went through training in Port Royal, South Carolina, meaning he went through Parris Island! There are photo's of Hill, a few of his boot camp buddies and relatives while home on leave. Most of the post cards are from Parris Island depicting training exercises and post war cards from Germany while part of the US occupation force. Some of the images have hand written captions above or below them in cursive pencil. Many of the war time images have a hand written note printed on them. All images are in a WWI period album. This one was made to be able to add pages, and expand as much as needed. It has eyelets on the front and back cover, and two holes per page that are bound together by a shoe lace. Most of the images have very good clarity, there are one or two that the image has just about faded away though. This is a very nice phot album of one Marine's transition from civilian to Marine, and from war time warrior to post war occupation force.
