1930's Public Health Service Uniform Insignia

This is a sleeve insignia for the Public Health Service from the 1930's. The round bullion made disc is worn above the strips on the sleeve of the dress uniform. The Public Health Service origins can be traced back to the 1798 system of marine hospitals. It is a division of the Department of Health and Human Services. These little uniform tidbits don't come along everyday!
