This book is a first edition compiled by H. V. Boynton, published in 1896, the narrative is 365 pages and is illustrated with black and white photographs and drawings. This compilation describes the dedication of the joint Chattanooga nd Chickamauga National Park. Henry V. Boynton, a former General of the Union Army, was a driving force to get these parks dedicated. The dedication was a three day event, attended by many former officer's of both sides, as well as the men who actually fought the battles. Monuments were dedicated to both Army headquarter sites, state memorials were dedicated, drill and ceremony were executed by then current military units and unit monuments were dedicated. This 125 year old book is in very good condition, and contains some amazing first hand accounts of those who fought there in 1863 and were there for the dedication 33 years later. This will be a very nice addition to any Civil War library.
