This is a photograph of Woodrow Wilson, President of the United States during WWI. Wilson was born 28 December, 1856 in Staunton, Virginia. When World War I broke out, Wilson wanted no part of it, and declared the US neutral. With the advent of unrestricted submarine warfare, Wilson's views began to change. With the sinking of the Lusitania President Wilson became fully committed to America joining the Allied powers in Europe. Wilson led the nation through the war, and continued to serve as president until 1921. He died on 3 February, 1924 at the age of 67. Woodrow Wilson is regarded as an above average president, who implemented many programs still in existence today. This photograph measures 6 3/4" by 9", with the mat it is 8 3/4" by 11".
