WWI US Mess Set Dated 1917

This is a set of US Model 1910 military mess kit utensils used during World War I. The fork and spoon were stamp formed from "corossionless metal" consisting of an alloy of brass and nickel. The knife was stamp formed, tempered and plated, then an aluminum handle was cast on the tang. All three utensils are stamped US of the front of the handle. The knife is stamped A.C Co. /1917 on the back of the handle. The fork is stamped on the back of the handle WB/W/1917 on the back of the handle. The spoon is also stamped WB/W/1917 on the back of the handle. The front of the spoon is stamped 22 and M/373 facing the opposite direction of the US stamp on the front of the handle. This is a great example of a set of US mess kit utensils used during WWI.
