This is a United Confederate Veterans celluloid of Lieutenant General Nathan Bedford Forrest. The pinback measures 1 3/4" across and has an image of Lieutenant General Nathan Bedford Forrest in the late war years on the face. The face of the pinback is undamaged. There are no scratches or any other blemishes on the face of the pin. The back of the pin had a paper cover, but it is completely gone. The pin itself is securely attached. The United Confederate Veterans organization was formed in 1889. In 1897 Confederate veterans who had served under Forrest's Cavalry Corps established themselves as a sub chapter of the UCV. This pinback dates to 1900 - 1910, during the height of the UCV reunion days. It remains in excellent condition and will make an excellent addition to your UCV badge and pin collection.
