WWI US Condiment Can
Item #: WR533
Click on an image to enlarge
This is a US condiment can used during World War I. This small can, originally with a bright tinned finish, was used to store coffee, sugar, salt and pepper or whatever else the individual soldier could obtain and chose to carry with him. The can is divided into two sections, and the larger of the two caps has a separate compartment for storage. Even though the bacon, or meat can, was discontinued with the change in Army rations, the condiment can continued to be used by the Doughboys through out WWI. This little piece will go along way in completing your WWI US Doughboy display.
