M7 Bayonet Manufactured by SARCO, Inc circa 1980's

This is an M7 Bayonet made for the commercial market with a leather scabbard. It is made of surplus components assembled by SARCO, Inc during the 1980's. The bayonet has an overall length of 12 1/4", with a blade length of 7". The M7 bayonet was designed to be used with the M16/M4 platform, but can also be used as a fighting knife or utility knife. The spear point style blade and cross guard are parkerized. The blade is stamped on the left side "U.S./CONETTA". The grip is made of stacked leather washers, very similar to the Mark I & II US Navy knives of WWII. The scabbard is in very good condition. It is made of leather and has no condition issues. This is a post Vietnam era combination, is very good condition, and add an interesting touch to any bayonet collection.
