WWII US Army Air Corps Overseas Cap

This is a an overseas cap worn by US Army Air Corps enlisted men during World War II. The piping identifies this one as used by the Air Corps from the Ultramarine Blue and Orange colors. The olive drab color of the cap really makes the piping stand out. This is a private purchase one as there are no clothing labels or stamps on the inside. The remnants of a size tag are still sewn under the sweatband near the rear. The sweatband is still with the cap, but the stitching is broken down both sides of the cap. The lining inside the cap also leads me to believe this is a private purchase cap, definitely not standard military issue. There are no names inked inside the cap. This is just a nice representative cap worn by a US Army Air Corps airman during WWII.
