This is a US Air Force sewing kit from the cold war era. During the Civil War these little kits were referred to as a "housewife". This one is from the 1980's - 2000, and includes thread, needles, patches of cloth and buttons. It is all contained in a handy plastic carrying case held closed by a snap. The case is marked in gold lettering AIR FORCE/SEWING KIT. Each individual was expected to maintain his uniform, and this little kit was a key part in doing that.
