This is a holster for the Japanese Type 14 Nambu pistol used during World War II. This is a late war version and is made of rubberized canvas versus leather. The thick rubberized canvas holster uses a hard shell outer flap that covers the pistol grip as well as the spare ammunition pocket. The outer flap is edged with a sewn leather binding. The outer flap is secured closed by means of a tab that attaches to a metal finial at the bottom of the holster body. The closure tab is 100% complete. The body of the holster that holds the pistol has a spare ammunition pocket and a small sleeve sewn beside it for an extra firing pin. These are covered by a flap that is secured by another finial. Inside the pocket for the pistol is a small sewn loop for a cleaning rod. The plug for the toe of the holster is still present. The holster comes complete with shoulder strap and a narrow rubberized canvas waist belt. There are a couple of sections on the shoulder strap where the canvas has started to separate. The adjustment buckle is still present and retains all the original black finish. The waist belt also has a couple of sections where the canvas has separated. There is a small roller buckle used to secure the belt. Overall this unissued Nambu holster is in very good condition. Like all other ones I've seen, they have become stiff over time. But it still displays fantastic and would look great in any WWII collection.
