This is an original article from the London Daily Times dated 20 March, 1862. The article is titled, "The DESPOTISM at Richmond", and voices the issues of a Confederate government that is dependent on the institution of slavery to survive. The article address many issues, from the dependency of slavery to produce the cotton used to back English loans to the treatment and future of the enslaved population of the Confederacy. The printed article measures 10 1/8" wide and 12 3/4" high. The print is very clear and legible, the paper is in very good condition, especially to be 161 years old! It will look good framed and hanging on the wall.
