This is a reproduction Mike Force patch from the Vietnam era. The patch measures 3" wide and 4 1/4" high. The patch is rectangle shaped. The once white backing is now stained a dirty brown. In the center of the patch is a shield with a skull and cross bones over the letters M.F. The one piece patch appears to have been artificially aged. The Mike Force refers to indigenous personnel recruited by US Special Forces teams to augment their teams. The term Mike Force derived from LTC Miguel de la Pena, whose code name was Mike. These Mike Force units, organized into battalions, were used as mobile strike forces to support and give aid to Civilian Irregular Defense Group (CIDG) camps under assault by North Vietnamese and Viet Cong forces. Original Mike Force patches from the Vietnam War are quite costly, this one will help with your patch collection and not break the bank!
