Pre WWI US Model 1904 First Aid Pouch

This is an US Model 1904 first aid pouch used in World War I. The pouch is in excellent, issued condition. The khaki color is still very vibrant, and has no staining. The canvas has no holes, rips or tears. The stitching is very tight and has no breaks or frays. The closure snaps work perfectly. The carrying bail is still present. The of outside of the flap is has a very faint ink stamp of crossed rifles and lettering that I can't make out below it. The inside of the pouch is stamped R.I.A. 1906 in a single line, with the number 35 below it. This pouch is constructed differently than most. The M1910 wire hanger is not secured to the pouch by being sewn on like most, but simply passes through two metal eyelets. Everyone who served in an overseas capacity carried one of these on their web gear. Great example of an early WWI first aid pouch that will complete your web gear!
