WWII Japanese Binoculars with Carrying Case

This is a set of Japanese military binoculars used during World War II. The body of the binoculars is leather covered. The leather has an almost new, pebbled surface and is securely attached to the optical tubes. The glass in these old binoculars is very good, but the right side lense has two small chips in it. The remaining lenses are clear and damage free. The bino's measure 3 1/2" long and have a maximum width of 4 11/16". The optics are fantastic with this set. The image is very clear and not distorted or cloudy, and focus perfectly when adjusted. A reticle is visible through the right eye that gives 40 degrees left and right of center, 25 degrees above and below center. The back of the left tube is stamped with a makers mark, the right is stamped with the magnification of 4x10. A leather neck strap is still reporting for duty, but unfortunately it is broken. The painted canvas case is well worn, but still very sturdy. All stitching is still strong and unbroken. The closure tab is present but broken. The carrying strap for the case is in very good condition and has kanji written in ink on it. These would look great in any Pacific theater WWII collection or display.
