This is a theater made Republic of China flag brought home by a veteran that served in the China Burma India theater during World War II. This one is a very desirable size, measuring 32" wide and 25" high. It is constructed of two panels of red and blue fabric. A blue canton with a white sun with twelve rays is machine sewn to the upper left corner of the red field. This flag is two sided and has a machine stitched edge on the hoist and fly ends and raw edges along the top and bottom. The colors of the flag remain very vibrant, with the red field and blue canton showing no discoloration or fading. There is no staining on the flag on either side. The white material used to represent the sun and it's rays show some discoloration, likely from storage, but it still displays well. There are no major rips or tears in the, but there are a couple of small holes in the canton on the right side of the sun. There are a couple of areas where the canton is sewn to the red field on the right side and along the bottom where the blue has pulled loose from the bottom row of double stitching. These made prized souvenirs for the allied soldiers, and this one made it's way back to the states in Captain George Comeo's duffel bag after the war. If you have the wall space, this flag still has some nice display power!
