WWI Riker Case Grouping of Corporal Charles G. W. Sewell 29th Division

This is a riker case grouping identified to an infantryman of Company C, 115th Infantry Regiment, 29th Infantry Division from World War I. The items are identified to Corporal Charles Garrison West Sewell. Sewell was from St Michaels, Maryland and joined the Maryland National Guard on 13 June, 1917 at the age of 21. Sewell was assigned to Company C, 1st Maryland Infantry Regiment. He was promoted to the rank of Private First Class on 2 July, 1917. In October of 1917 the 1st, 4th and 5th Maryland Infantry Regiments were consolidated to form the 115th Infantry Regiment of the 29th Division at Camp McClellan, Alabama. Charles Sewell was a member of C Company, 115th Infantry Regiment, 29th Infantry Division from October, 1917 to 6 June, 1919. He participated in the Alsace offensive and the Meuse Argonne Offensive. This infantryman served overseas from 15 June, 1918 until 24 May, 1919. Charles Garrison West Sewell was honorably discharged from active duty at Camp George G. Meade, Maryland on 6 June, 1919. This grouping is made up of a post card image of Sewell, both of his identification tags on the original cord, his 29th Division patch, honorable discharge stripe, one overseas stripe, his Corporal chevrons and a collar disk with crossed rifles with the letter E under them. The grouping comes with four pages of research. This small riker case grouping displays gret, and will make a nice addition to your 29th Division or WWI collection.
