Pre WWII US Army Eleventh Corps Patch

This is a US Eleventh Corps patch from the pre World War II period. The patch measures 2 3/8" at the widest point and 2 3/4" high. The patch is in the shape of a shield, having the design of the "Bunker Hill Flag" on a blue background with a green border. The US Eleventh Corps was first activated on 22 March, 1922 and allocated to the Organized Reserves. It was activated on 15 June, 1942 with headquarters in Chicago, Illinois. The 11th Corps conducted maneuvers in Tennessee in 1942, participated in winter maneuvers in Wisconsin in 1943 and directed the Blue Forces during the Second Army Tennessee maneuvers in November, 1943. The 11th Corps left for the Pacific Theater of Operations in March, 1944. It operated in the Pacific Theater of Operations, and received campaign streamers for the New Guinea, Luzon and the Southern Philippines campaigns. This one piece patch is all machine sewn. There is no moth damage on the patch. This patch has never been on a uniform. If you collect WWII US patches you gotta have one of these.
