WWI US Model 1917 Helmet

This is a US Model 1917 helmet from World War I. The helmet has a stainless steel band with the seam in the front. The heat stamp of ZD 215 is visible on the underside of the rim near the seam in the band. The chin strap is missing. The liner is still present and shows a ton of wear. The original paint remains inside the helmet and on the exterior. Most of the texturing still remains on the exterior of the helmet. This helmet came with no history, so I'm not going to speculate. It still has some good eye appeal, and would look good in any WWI display or helmet collection.
