This is a US Infantry officer collar insignia from the WWI era. US Officers began wearing branch insignia on their collar, and in 1902 Army regulations authorized the wear of crossed rifles for the Infantry branch. In 1905 the insignia was changed from the 1795 musket to the 1903 Springfield rifle. This bronze insignia measures 2" wide and 1" high. It retains much of the original finish. The pin and simple "C" catch and both present. If you have a WWI officer's uniform and it's missing an Infantry branch insignia, here you go!
