Civil War Era Cast Iron "Spider" Skillet

This is a cast iron skillet from the Civil War era. It has a 7 3/4" diameter and is 2" deep. The 8" handle is secured by three rivets. A small section of the skillet is missing where the handle is riveted. These were referred to as "spiders", because of the elevated legs. This one has three legs that measure 2". The overall appearance of the skillet is black, from age and use. This one is just the right size to have been carried on a campaign. These look great in camp or soldier's items display.
