This is a World War II German Luftwaffe EM/NCO Visor cap. The cap is made of dark gray wool with a black band and a traditional high peak with matching yellow piping along the top edge and flanking either side of the band, indicating flight personnel. A Luftwaffe cloth eagle patch is sewn on the peak of the hat. Pinned on the center of the hat band is a silvered zinc Luftwaffe winged wreath with a central tri colored cockade. The dual buckled black leather chinstrap, designating the wearer to be an enlisted man, is attached to black lacquered buttons on either side. The visor has a smooth black leather look upper and has no blemishes. The gray leather sweatband shows extensive staining to the front of the band from heavy wear. The inside of the cap is lined with a pumpkin colored cotton. The diamond shaped clear plastic shield is still intact, but is cracked and broken on the upper left side. There is a maker mark stamped beneath the shield, it is faded but still legible. Ink stamped on the inside of the sweatband at the rear within a rectangle block is the name T.S. Juterbog. The date of what appears to be 23 Apr. 1937 and the number 4 inside a square are ink stamped beside the name. This hat is in overall fine condition, having no discoloration, stains or moth issues anywhere. It exhibits only slight staining from normal use. This one will really make your WWII collection look great!
