This is a US Model 1943 long sleeve khaki shirt used during World War II. These shirts were part of the summer garrison uniform the Army used, beginning in the 1930's and on into the 1980's. This one has the chevrons of a Corporal on each sleeve. The left sleeve also has the red, yellow and blue patch of the US Army's Replacement and School Command, designated on 22 March, 1943. The patch was later reassigned to the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) on 1 July, 1973. The colors of the patch have dual representations, blue is the branch color of Infantry, yellow for Cavalry and red for Artillery. The three stripes also represent the components of the one Army concept: Active Army, Army Reserve and Army National Guard. The seven button front shirt has the convertible collar. There is just a small remnant of the quartermaster tag, just enough to know it had one. The shirt size of 15 32 are clearly stamped in the back of the shirt below the neck line.
