WWI US 82nd Division Theater Made Patch

This is a theater made US 82nd Division patch from World War I. The patch measures 2 5/8" wide and 2 1/2" high. The white double AA's stand for the All Americans, nickname for the division. The letters and blue circle are wool and are sewn onto a red wool background to form the 82nd patch. The patch is then sewn onto a green wool backing. There is a small amount of moth damage in the bottom right corner, in the red part of the patch. One small hole is also found in the blue, just below the right hand A. This 82nd Division patch has been removed from a tunic. The 82nd Division patch is probably the most recognizable patch from WWI, thanks to fellow Tennessean Alvin York! The overall condition of this WWI 82nd Division patch is very good.
