Pre WWI US Enlisted Uniform
Item #: WR524
This is a pre WWI US enlisted summer uniform consisting of the tunic and pants. These summer uniforms are a little more difficult to find, as they are made of cotton twill fabric instead of the more common wool fabric. The jacket, or tunic, is unlined and is of a single breast design. There are five brown plastic general service buttons on the front, along with six smaller brown plastic general service buttons. The jacket has a standing collar, shoulder epaulettes, plain cuffs and four pockets on the front. Each epaulet has a small general service button, as does each pocket to secure the flap. The pocket flaps are scalloped. The collar has two one inch disks, one US and the other the branch insignia of the Infantry. The left sleeve has no patches or insignia of any kind. The right sleeve has the rank of Sergeant sewn on it. The jacket and pants are both ink marked with the word CAKE/ Btt F 82/#125, and the name Bornard Molath is also written in the pants. At least that's what I think it says, it's written in ink incursive. There is some research to be done for someone who has a little more time to spend on it than me! The jacket and pants are in very good condition. There is no moth damage or any other damage for that matter. All buttons are still with both the pants and jacket. Here's an opportunity to own a pre WWI uniform from what I believe to the 1902 - 1912 era. You just don't see these uniforms in this good of condition very often.
